We develop high-tech component steel solutions, and at Ovako's production unit in Hällefors, steel is processed in various forms. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team in physical testing.

Job Description
The department of physical testing is our production laboratory, and currently, we are 7 employees working to ensure quality, test, and control the material before it is delivered to the customer. Careful sample preparation is required, including cutting, sawing, grinding, polishing, milling, turning, and heat treatment. We also check the mechanical properties of the steel by testing hardness, strength, and impact toughness. In light microscopy, we assess structures and inclusions in the material. We also support colleagues in other departments with material investigations and complaints.
In summary, your tasks will include:
- Sample preparation
- Material testing
- Microscopy in light microscopy
- Reporting results
Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 16:00.
Are You the One We Are Looking For?
We are looking for someone with a technical interest, who is curious and eager to learn new things. To thrive in the role of operator, you should be a flexible person who can easily adapt to changing conditions and appreciates variety in tasks. You enjoy collaborating with others and have the ability to take your own initiative in daily work. Above all, you are a meticulous person who does not leave anything to chance!
You have completed secondary education and possess good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. This is a requirement for the position as you need to understand safety regulations and other practical information related to your daily work. Since the position includes some administrative work, you should have basic computer skills and familiarity with computers.
If you have previous experience working in a production laboratory, we consider it an advantage. Likewise, if you have a strong interest in steel and experience in steel production. However, if not, we believe that you, with high ambition and a willingness to learn, will also fit well into the role!
